October 2017

October 2017

Hands down October, November and December are my favorite three months of the year, so I'm always excited when this time of the year rolls around.  We kicked off October in a very "autumn" fashion with a beer/cider sampling and Oreo (Apple Pie style) at my parents house.  We tried two different ciders, one from Milk & Honey and one from Maiden Rock.  We tried the Great Lakes Brewing Co. Oktoberfest and Brooklyn Brewing Post Road Pumpkin Ale.

We had a new adventure with Frankie and took him to his first apple orchard: Pleasant Valley Orchard.  It was a gorgeous sunny day and we had a great time walking around the orchard.  Frankie thoroughly enjoyed sniffing all sorts of sniffs out there.

Shawn and I went to Bauhaus Brew Labs for the first time for the Live Drone Racing event with some friends.  It was a pretty cool event and definitely fun to see all the tiny drones flying around.

On October 15th we celebrated my dad's birthday at our usual birthday hangout spot: Bad Weather Brewing in St. Paul.  And what birthday would be complete without White Castle?  A first for us: a Crave Case!  We celebrated with friends and had a a great night laughing and eating. I even baked a chocolate cake with funfetti frosting - a treat for all!

Shawn and I celebrated 6 years of dating with a four-day long weekend doing some of our favorite things.  We grabbed lattes at Cafe Latte on Grand Ave and wandered around the shops a bit.  We made a stop at my favorite shop, Paper Source where I drooled over all the pretty paper and wanted to buy every.single.sheet. We had delicious food at The Happy Gnome and tried out the new Seventh Street Truck Park/New Bohemia in St. Paul with friends.  We also went to our annual spot: Pine Tree Apple Orchard to enjoy apple donuts/apple rollovers and walk around the beautiful scenery.  It's a place that is special to us and somewhere we go every year in October.

I started to ramp up holiday card production and began shipping holiday cards off to local shops!
